Mochibees, a growing bakery chain that specializes in mochi doughnuts, will soon have three Georgia locations with the addition of an Alpharetta outpost later this year.
Joining its original Duluth location and the brand’s second in Doraville, the Alpharetta Mochibees will be situated at 13800 Highway 9 in Bethany Village, according to leasing data obtained by What Now Atlanta.
Recent announcements on the company’s Facebook page confirms the news. “We are excited to announce that the new Mochibees store will be opening soon in Alpharetta. Yay!,” states the social media post. “Stay connected for upcoming events & news!” Reps for Mochibees also confirmed the plans in a message to What Now Atlanta but did not comment on project specifics.
Mochi doughnuts marry two desserts, the American-style cake doughnut and the chewy Japanese rice cakes mochi.
“After much trial and error, we developed a low sweetness donut that is still sweet enough for health-conscious parents to feed their kids with less guilt,” Mochibees states on its website. “We also put much effort into creating a taste that is not irritating for the elderly, accustomed to regular donuts.”
Mochibees was founded by “two young food enthusiasts” from New York “with brilliant minds and lots of love for food and sweets.” The duo, who go by “Dan” and “Aaron,” launched the company in late 2021 “with absolute confidence in our Mochi-donut after much research and practice,” its website states.
Plans are to franchise the brand and it’s unclear if the upcoming Alpharetta Mochibees will have a franchisee or be corporate-owned.
