A new location of Sankranti Indian Kitchen will open in Emory Village in the first quarter of 2023.

The 2,200-square-foot restaurant will come to 1569 N. Decatur Road near Emory University, according to an announcement.

The fast-causal Indian restaurant offers a variety of curry bowls, karma rolls, veggie samosas, salads and desserts.

Guests can choose from pulao rice, jeera rice or grilled vegetables as the base of their bowls, rolls or salads and add a variety of proteins. Spicy chicken, mango chicken, kurma chicken, tikka chicken, chana (chickpea) and paneer (cheese) are available.

“Our menu reflects the diversity of aromatic spices from both southern and northern regions of India, and our fast casual approach is affordable and allows guests to experiment and build exciting, custom meals to their liking,” Sankranti owner Srinivasa Nimmagadda said in a press release.

The first location of Sankranti Indian Kitchen opened early this year in Dunwoody.

Nimmagadda plans to franchise the concept and has 10 locations in the works for the Atlanta area, according to the press release. He also operates a fine dining restaurant and banquet hall in Johns Creek, also called Sankranti.

Nimmagadda confirmed in an email to What Now Atlanta that the Emory Village location of Sankranti will be company owned and not a franchise location.
