Local vegan bakery Flour and Time is gearing up to open its first permanent storefront at 1133 Huff Rd NW this summer, according to owner Leah Parris, who operates the business with fiancee Michael Bajalia.

“We’re really excited to be moving into West Midtown. It’s close to home for me, it’s closer to where I live,” Parris tells What Now Atlanta, “so I’m just excited to extend vegan baked goods into a new area of the city.”

Parris and Bajalia started Flour and Time as a “cottage kitchen” out of their apartment in April 2020, after the pair lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After about a year of growing the brand they decided to take their treats to various farmer’s markets around town, before setting down temporary roots at a shared kitchen space in Avondale Estates.

Now, they’re deep in the build-out process of the West Midtown location and hope to open late May or early June.

Parris says that in addition to the signature vegan baked goods such as bread, pastries, and cookies, they’ll be adding some gluten-free options, as well as an espresso bar and lunch fare.
