Special delivery: A new location of The UPS Store is in the works in Midtown.

The store is proposed for a tenant space at The Registry on the Park, an apartment complex located at 207 13th St NE, just west of Piedmont Park.

There are more than 5,500 locations of The UPS Store in the U.S. and Canada, making it the largest franchisor of retail shipping, postal, printing and business service centers. The stores offer domestic and international shipping, packing, copying, printing services (business cards, letterhead, etc.), postal services, and office and packaging supplies.

In addition to standalone shops, The UPS Store can also be found in non-traditional locations, like within existing stores, pharmacies, hotels, college campuses and military bases, ranging from 500 to 1,800 square feet.

The nearest existing location to the upcoming Midtown store is about 0.7 miles away, on Peachtree Street NE.

UPS acquired a concept called Mail Boxes Etc. in 2001, and two years later, The UPS Store brand was introduced. The company is headquartered in San Diego, but parent company UPS is headquartered right here in Atlanta.
