A new development in Sandy Springs is moving forward.

Several buildings have topped out at Wayfern Apartments, Urbanize Atlanta reports. The development is replacing the Big Lots-anchored North Springs Shopping Center. A three-story residential building, a parking deck and townhomes are all planned for the project.

Wayfern Apartments comes from Fairfield Residential, a San Diego-based real estate operator and investment manager specializing in multifamily development. Atlanta-based Dwell Design Studio is designing it.

Wayfern Apartments will feature studio, one- and two-bedroom floor plans. It is expected to have a total of 286 units.

This isn’t the only development from Fairfield Residential coming to metro Atlanta; The Edley Apartments is in the works in Piedmont Heights.
