The California-based goodie store for adults is opening a Lenox Square Mall outpost.
Lenox Square Mall will soon be home to the first Sugarfina boutique on the East Coast.
The California-based candy shop Thursday filed plans with City of Atlanta to open a “kiosk” in the Buckhead mall, at 3393 Peachtree Road.
Rosie O’Neill, a former Mattel executive overseeing marketing for the company’s Barbie brand, co-founded Sugarfina in 2012 with now husband Josh Resnick.
“Sugarfina began as a sweet little chapter in our love story,” the duo writes in the company’s “about” page.
“On our third date, we went to a screening of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. After the film, we started daydreaming… wouldn’t it be great if there was an innovative candy shop for grown-ups?”
And ta-da, the Sugarfina brand was born, as the story goes, retailing candies like Martini Olive Almonds, Champagne Bears, and Cuba Libre (spiced rum and cola).
Sugarfina Lenox Square is slated for a September opening, according to the “luxury” candy store’s website.
Sugarfina has five stores in California and is opening a sixth location in San Jose this August, making the Atlanta boutique the gourmet candy retailer’s seventh store nationwide.
O’Neill was not immediately available for comment.
