The team behind Menu Extra, known for its gourmet meal boxes and exciting dinner events, is preparing to open its first restaurant on Bernard Street in Mile End in 2025.

The new yet-to-be-named restaurant will offer French bistro classics with a creative twist, according to executive chef and co-founder Francis Blais, who announced the news on social media. The new space will be more accessible than their previous ephemeral tables and focus on a refined yet casual dining experience. Blais will be joined by sommelier Alexis Demers, who has curated an impressive wine cellar that will be available to customers.

Together, they have built a reputation for innovative dining and will bring their expertise to the new restaurant. Menu Extra has been known for its exclusive meal boxes and unique pop-up dining experiences. The team’s new restaurant aims to offer elevated comfort food with a creative flair, set to attract food lovers in Montreal’s Mile End neighborhood. The opening is highly anticipated, with many eager to see what the duo has in store.

This isn’t the first time the Blais and Demers have worked together. The duo is known for their work at Le Mousso, located at 1025 Ontario St E. The high-end restaurant offers creative, seasonal à-la-carte dishes or set dinner menus. Blais focuses on modern, locally sourced cuisine, while Demers oversees the wine selection. Their partnership has earned the restaurant significant acclaim. Le Mousso is recognized as one of the city’s leading dining spots. Now the two will embark on a new venture with this new restaurant.
