The owners of Babas on Cannon and Babas on Meeting, two cafés in downtown Charleston, are planning on opening a third location at 115½ Wentworth Street, the Post and Courier reported.

The co-owner of Babas, Edward Crouse, plans to completely renovate the brick two-story building, complete with an outdoor patio. The Post also reported that the proposal was approved by a Harleston Village committee, and a city review board gave the go-ahead to reduce the amount of required parking.

Harleston Village is one of Charleston’s oldest neighborhoods, according to the neighborhood association’s website.

The two open locations of Babas offer coffees, fresh-squeezed juice, pastries, caviar, and plates like avocado toast and cheese plates, along with cocktails and wines. The business also offers catering and private events with pastries and lunch, coffee, aperitivos and cocktail coolers. For private events, Babas on Cannon offers room for 15 seated people and 50 standing, while Babas on Meeting has space for 40 people seated and 80 standing. The business also has its Bespoke off-site bar.

“babas on cannon and babas on meeting are a neighborhood cafés located in downtown Charleston, inspired by the cafés and bars of Europe and guided by the regional products of the southeast,” the company website reads.

Babas on Cannon is located at 11 Cannon Street, while Babas on Meeting is at 804 Meeting Street.
