Beloved Italian gelato brand Bacio di Latte is bringing its signature scoops to San Diego for the first time with a new location coming to La Jolla at 8867 Villa La Jolla Dr.

The company’s 15th location is expected to open at The Shops at La Jolla Village, according to documentation submitted to the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality. It’s unclear when this location is expected to open, and with Bacio di Latte’s submission still in review, this site will likely open before the end of the year. When it does open, customers can expect fresh, artisanal Italian gelato made daily using high-quality ingredients. The shop will offer various flavors—dairy-free and vegan options—served in pints, cones, and cups. Guests can also order affogatos, milkshakes, and other creamy desserts in a sleek, welcoming environment.

Founded in 2011 by brothers Edoardo and Luigi Tonolli, Bacio di Latte has become known for its sleek interiors and creamy, slow-churned gelato. The company blends traditional Italian craftsmanship with a fresh California twist. The company offers handcrafted Italian gelato made fresh daily using organic milk and cream. Flavors range from classics like Pistacchio and Cioccolato Belga to creative seasonal offerings and vegan-friendly options like Pistacchio Vegano. The gelato is crafted with premium ingredients like Sicilian pistachios, Piedmont hazelnuts, and Belgian chocolate. Whether you’re a chocolate lover or fruit fanatic, the shop promises something special for every palate.

Bacio di Latte’s arrival in San Diego is part of a more significant wave of expansion across Southern California. After opening its first U.S. store in Newport Beach, the brand has grown to include locations in Los Angeles hotspots like Century City, Brentwood, and Larchmont Village. Several more shops will soon open across LA County, further solidifying its West Coast presence, including in Calabasa, Studio City, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and more. San Diegans will soon experience the same luxurious, small-batch goodness without leaving their neighborhood.
