A new restaurant is headed to Boston’s Beacon Hill, bringing fresh energy to one of the city’s most iconic dining spaces.

Restaurateur Allan Rodríguez (El Centro, La Neta) will open nine at 9 Park Street Place, in the space formerly home to Barbara Lynch’s acclaimed No. 9 Park. The longtime fine-dining destination, which closed in late 2024 after a 26-year run, helped define Boston’s culinary scene with its refined French- and Italian-inspired cuisine.

With nine, Rodríguez hopes to honor that legacy while offering a more approachable experience, where guests can settle in to enjoy a full tasting menu or grab a casual cocktail and small plates at the bar, according to BostonChefs.com.

The dining room will blend “understated luxury with a sense of place,” featuring sweeping views of the State House and Boston Common, as well as a striking mural of the city by artist Arminda Maritsa Ferreira.

Chef Andrew Simonich—an alum of both No. 9 Park, Sportello, and Menton—will helm the kitchen. His seasonally inspired menu will be grounded in classical French technique, drawing influence from flavors across Europe. Standout dishes include lamb with lemon confit and Calabrian chilies, and a waygu burger served on a foie gras-infused bun, reports The Boston Globe.

nine will also feature Boston’s first “gin palace,” a 15-seat bar serving gins from around the world, plus a wine list that leans toward French producers and rare global finds. An approachable team of sommeliers will guide guests through the offerings.

In a brief conversation with What Now Boston, Rodríguez confirmed that nine is slated to open in late spring 2025.

“I am thrilled to introduce nine to Boston and preserve the rich history of this beloved location,” he said in a press release. “Our team comprises the industry’s top talent, and each member has brought unique expertise to the table. Together, we are creating a restaurant that promises the highest caliber of hospitality, food and beverage, and I am confident that we will deliver an exceptional experience that exceeds expectations.”
