Fruitlandia and Taqueria Factory, a pair of family-owned Mexican eateries in the Phoenix area, are getting ready to open a new location in Gilbert at the northwest corner of Higley Road and Warner Road.
The company’s newest location for this dual-concept is set to open in the Shops at Higley & Warner Road, which is currently under construction and expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2026, according to intel received by What Now. The Garfio Family founded Fruitlandia in 2006, specializing in Latin-inspired desserts and beverages, including raspados (shaved ice with house-made syrups), milkshakes, and aguas frescas. Taqueria Factory, launched in 2022, offers a variety of Mexican dishes such as tacos, burritos, quesabirrias, and birria ramen, complemented by margaritas and micheladas.
Last year, the Garfio family introduced the dual-concept location at Arizona Mills Mall in Tempe, combining both brands under one roof for the first time. This 3,200-square-foot space features a shared kitchen, a walk-up counter for dine-in and takeout, a margarita bar, an outdoor patio with misters, and a drive-thru for on-the-go ordering. The family has continued to expand Fruitlandia and Taqueria Factory, opening additional dual-concept sites in Mesa and Chandler. These locations maintain the same layout, offering both dining experiences in a single venue. The Mesa location is at 351 N. Country Club Drive and includes a bar and drive-thru.
This will be an excellent location for Fruitlandia and Taqueria Factory. The strip mall will feature various restaurants and retailers, offering an excellent opportunity for businesses looking to join these two popular local eateries. Located within the highly desirable, master-planned community of Morrison Ranch, the area boasts strong demographics with more than 279,000 residents and an average household income of $116,725 within five miles. The site also benefits from excellent visibility and steady traffic, with more than 9,000 cars per day on Warner and over 20,000 on Higley. With major retailers like Mountainside Fitness coming soon, this intersection is shaping up to be one of Gilbert’s go-to destinations for dining, fitness, and everyday shopping.
