Located at 1329 W Cass St, Santoro’s Pizzeria is an “authentic Italian American Pizzeria with influence from Naples and Sicily.” It’s a product of owner Travis Kaiser’s years of restaurant management experience and a kind of love letter his native New Jersey.
“I wanted the pizzeria to look like it was picked up from Jersey and placed in the heart of Tampa,” Kaiser says on the Santoro’s website.
Santoro’s is name after Kaiser’s first born son, the restaurant’s very existence hints, the website says, at another restaurant named for Kaiser’s second-born son, Giancarlo.
As it happens, that restaurant will soon be opening!
Coverage published last week by That’s So Tampa describes the new concept, Giancarlo’s Cafe, as offering “elevated diner-style fare at affordable prices, making it a perfect spot for families.”
Details on the new restaurant are still largely under wraps, although the That’s So Tampa coverage calls for a fall/winter opening. What Now reached out to Travis Kaiser on Wednesday to ask about plans for the opening. Kaiser was not immediately available for comment, but What Now is awaiting an update.
