The retail center on the southeast corner of Maryland Parkway and East Harmon Avenue will soon be home to a new Japanese restaurant. Called Shun Japanese Yakitori Izakaya, it’s opening at 4550 S Maryland Parkway, Suite 9, according to licensing paperwork submitted to Clark County.

“We will be serving Yakitori—that’s authentic Japanese grilled skewers,” Taichi, one of the chefs behind the concept told What Now on Wednesday. “It’s going to be an izakaya-style bar for dinner. At lunch time there will ramen, curry bowls, things like that.”

The new restaurant is at work on a liquor license for a later date—for the moment, it will be sticking to beer and wine. It will open in a space with seating for 54 guests.

“We’re all Japanese chefs,” said Taichi. “So it will be a very traditional and authentic style.”

Opening in the Maryland Parkway retail center, Shun Japanese Yakitori Izakaya will join restaurants like Chipotle Mexican Grill, Lefty-J’s Island Favorites, Cugino’s Italian Deli & Pizzeria, and GoGo Karaoke.
