According to recent reporting in The Business Journal, a growing Indian fast casual brand has been confirmed for the World Golf Village.

Citing an April 14 St. Johns County permit, Kolapasi Indian Canteen will be operating out of an 1,100-square-foot space at the Shoppes at Tocoi Creek, directly across from World Golf Village.

Described as a fast-casual restaurant that “offers a modern take on South Indian cuisine,” the report adds that Kolapasi Indian Canteen was founded in 2013 by Santhosh Muruganantham while at Georgia Tech.

“Unsatisfied by the nearby offerings and inspired by his mother’s cooking in Chennai (on the Bay of Bengal), Muruganantham decided to found a place where he could satisfy his craving for a home cooked meal while sharing South Indian flavors with a wider audience.”

According to the official website, Kolapasi specializes particularly in South Indian cuisine, serving up dishes such as mutton chukka, nilagiri chicken, biryani and more.

No opening date has been announced.
