St. Petersburg’s Central Arts District will soon be home to a classic English-style pub. Opening at 534 Central Avenue, Green Turtle Brewery and Public House will offer beers ranging from American lagers to IPAs, along with a signature Cask Ale.

“The English Cask Ale is the thing that really sets us apart,” owner Todd Bearden told What Now on Friday. “Some people just call it ‘real ale.’ It’s the freshest beer you can get, and we’re going to serve it in the traditional style with hand pumps at English cellar temperature.”

Coming in at around 50 degrees, Bearden says, the flavor really starts to pop.

“The temperature accentuates the flavor, so that you really taste the malt.”

There will also be a food menu—streamlined but sticking to the classic English public house theme. Think Cornish Pasties and Scottish Eggs.

“We should getting possession of the space early next month, then we can see about renovations,” said Bearden. The turnaround is expected to be quick. “It would be great if we could do an opening in May or June.”

You can keep up with the opening by checking out Green Turtle Brewing’s website and following @greenturtlebrewing on Instagram.
