Located at 39895 US Hwy 27, La Criolla Cafe & Restaurant “is bringing to Davenport Puerto Rico’s most acclaimed dishes.” After nearly five years in business, the restaurant is building on its success to launch a sister restaurant—La Criolla Cafe & Bakery—in Winter Haven, at 416 Citi Centre St.
“We opened on October 17, 2020,” Mikal, one of the restaurant’s owners, told What Now Friday. “We had great support from the local community, and we’re still standing strong today thanks to all the locals who love us.”
The menu at La Criolla Cafe & Bakery will feature a menu largely the same as the one in Davenport. Expect to see many of the same entrees, sandwiches, empanadas, and more—plus new items from the bakery.
“There will be some Puerto Rican desserts, like traditional rice pudding, cream rolls, fresh bread—plus some of American staples like muffins. Something to satisfy everybody.”
The space on Citi Centre Street seats about 148 guests. It was originally expected to launch on July 1, but the opening appears to be running slightly ahead of schedule, Mikal says. Expect to see La Criolla Restaurant & Bakery launch in June.
