Maryland, get ready for (an incredibly delicious) Canadian invasion. Tim Hortons-the beloved Northern coffee and donut shop-is seeking out franchisees and locations for its debut in the state, reports the Washington Business Journal.
The chain is planning to make its Maryland premiere momentously by opening 10 new locations across Howard and Carroll counties. While the brand has not yet selected any franchisees or specific locations, Tim Hortons is aiming to open its first regional storefront at some point next year.
Tim Hortons is being aided in its search for perfect locations by Hyatt Commercial. The company provides this insight as to what makes a property desirable as a Tim Hortons storefront, saying: “Tim Hortons is seeking prime retail sites in the region, ideally free-standing buildings with drive-thru capability or high-traffic endcap spaces. Each location will follow the brand’s standard 1,600-square-foot layout, featuring an indoor dining area.”
The Canadian coffee giant sees the Old Line State as a receptive new community, thirsty for a great cup of joe. Senior real estate manager Kyle Corman explains: “Our Maryland expansion reflects a commitment to growing in markets where guests are looking for great coffee, convenient drive-thrus, and warm, welcoming spaces.”
