The mixed-use project is moving forward with its ‘rooftop amenity deck’ on floors 8 and 9.

Jamestown Properties is moving forward with plans to transform the rooftop on Ponce City Market (PCM), the real estate firm’s redevelopment project, into a carnival-like experience with an amusement ride and mini golf, among other activities.

A building permit application was submitted to City of Atlanta Thursday for the “rooftop amenity deck” on floors eight and nine of the Old Fourth Ward mixed-use development, at 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE.

Amy Wenk, Atlanta Business Chronicle’s hospitality reporter, this week uncovered a trademark filed late July for “The Roof at Ponce City Market.”

So far, an estimated $850,000 will be spent building-out the 74,150-square-foot project at PCM.

What Now Atlanta (WNA) sought comment from Jamestown Thursday seeking specifics on what the nearly $1MM expenditure will cover.

“We don’t currently have any additional information to share on The Roof at this time…,” a company spokesperson told WNA in an email.

  • With the heat in Atlanta, all the asphalt around this place, and all the residents, I sure hope their rooftop plans include a pool. The place would be perfect if it had a pool. If not, I’m hard pressed to pay $2400 a month for an apartment with no pool.
