A new Thirsty Cow Korean BBQ is preparing to open in Garden Grove at 5939 Chapman Avenue, permits filed with the city show. This will be the all-you-can-eat concept’s second location, following the success of its flagship spot in the City of Industry.
The upcoming restaurant will occupy a former Souplantation building in Eastgate Plaza, located on the northwest corner of Chapman Avenue and Valley View Street, next to a Von’s grocery store and gas station. Since 2021, the building has sat vacant, and it’s in the process of undergoing minor renovations to prepare for the eatery’s operations.
Project plans state that the over 8,000-square-foot property will have an occupancy limit of up to 195 people, including 24 bar seats and 38 seats in a private dining room. AHK Architecture, led by Andrew Kil, is overseeing the design.
Proposed operating hours are listed as Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. The restaurant will employ approximately 50 part-time and full-time staff.
