“You Want It, We Got It.”
Currently located at 1026 N Miami Beach Blvd in North Miami Beach, Macillon Grio Fish & Chicken is preparing to pick up stakes and move to a new location. This week, What Now came across plan review paperwork showing a new Macillon Grio Fish & Chicken opening at 13695 W Dixie Hwy in North Miami.
What Now reached out this week to co-owner Julenne Macillon to ask about the planned new location, uncertain if it represented a relocation or an expansion. Macillon was not immediately available for comment (What Now is awaiting more details by email), but in the meantime, the brand recently posted news of a new location on its Instagram page.
“MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT,” the post says. “Macillon Grio Fish & Chicken Will Be Moving Locations. We Will Be Located in NORTH MIAMI. Coming Soon 2025.”
This confirms, if not the address, then at least the locale. North Miami residents will soon have access to this “No-frills, counter-serve outpost serving Haitian comfort foods such as fried fish & plantains” (as described by Google).
“First time I tried Haitian food and I am very impressed with the taste of the cuisine,” says one 5-star review on Google Maps. “The oxtail called in Haitian Creole Queue Boeuf or Ke Bef and the Goat in sauce called Cabrini en Sauce were delicious. The dish came with crispy plantains, a salad and a very tasty rice and beans which I believe had been infused with coconut milk and some nice herbs and spice. Excellent introduction to Haiti’s food and also very nice and sweet staff.”
