Joe’s mission to spread happiness—one adventurous cup of coffee at a time—continues with a new Ramblin’ Joe’s Coffee set to open in Memphis this July.
The upcoming café, located at 2956 Sam Cooper Boulevard, will feature a drive-thru canopy and indoor seating, offering guests a comfortable spot to enjoy their brew. It will be the third Ramblin’ Joe’s location, joining the original shop at 4610 Poplar Avenue and a second inside Memphis International Airport.
“We have our original store in Memphis, but we are building a new store that will be our model store for how everything else is going to run,” CEO David Lambert told What Now Memphis. “It will be our flagship.”
This new cafe will be the first store they’ve built from the ground up, allowing them to design it exactly how they want, unlike previous locations that had to work within existing architecture.
The expansion doesn’t stop there. What Now reported last year Ramblin’ Joe’s signed a multi-unit franchise deal in Nashville, with plans to open five new locations over the next three years.
Lambert added that new cafés are also in the works nationwide, with upcoming locations planned for Austin and Dallas.
Ramblin’ Joe’s Coffee describes itself as a “fast craft” coffee shop—combining the speed and efficiency of major chains like Starbucks with the quality and personal touch of a local café, including latte art and crafted drinks served.
Each Ramblin’ Joe’s café offers a globally inspired menu, crafted from the travels of Joe — a beloved fictional character known for exploring flavors around the world.
“Joe is a traveler. He’s a person that travels around the world, meeting new people, meeting new cultures, and loves to be in the culture,” Lambert said.
The idea came from hearing travelers rave about unique coffee experiences abroad—drinks they couldn’t find back home. By having Joe explore different countries and cultures, the company hopes to introduce customers to one-of-a-kind beverages they might not otherwise get to try.
Signature drinks include the Maine Salted Maple Latte—crafted in tribute to a cozy café in the Northeast—and the Full Moon Latte, inspired by the magic of Memphis nights.
From Colombia, Joe brought back inspiration for the Café Con Leche, made with bold Colombian coffee, steamed half-and-half, and panela sugar. Meanwhile, a trip to Mexico led to the creation of the Mexican Mocha, featuring rich Mexican chocolate, a hint of cinnamon, and smooth espresso.
Wherever Joe goes next, one thing is certain—he’s bringing the world a little closer, one latte at a time.
