A new venue celebrating arts and entertainment is preparing to open its doors in North Denver, Denver Gazette writes. Located at 3300 N. Tejon St., Ballyhoo Table & Stage will serve as a coffee shop, bar, event space, and performance venue — an all-around communal spot that the owner hopes to be a neighborhood staple.

Ballyhoo is the vision of Julia Tobey, founder of Give 5 Productions, a longtime local events company. After producing shows independently for nearly two decades without a permanent space, Tobey recently signed a lease at the former BRDG Project Art Gallery building—a brick structure dating back to 1929.

The 8,680-square-foot venue will feature a daily coffee shop open seven days a week, with light snacks and cocktails in the evening. Food trucks will rotate outside. According to city records, Ballyhoo’s liquor license application is currently pending with the City of Denver, with a hearing scheduled for June 5.

A back room will feature a 300-person flexible performance space with state-of-the-art sound and lighting. Give 5 Productions will curate at least seven shows per week, including comedy, drag, cabaret, concerts, storytelling, theater, and brunch shows. The concept will work with art collective BRDG Project on events.

With a hybrid business model relying on both private donors and individual investors, Tobey tells What Now Denver she expects to raise about $50,000 by opening day, and is about halfway there. Ballyhoo will be partnering with Peak Beverage to manage food and beverage service, and hiring singing bartenders.

“As a Colorado native, creating Ballyhoo Table & Stage feels like coming full circle—a love letter to the community that raised me. It’s a place for theater, music, stories, connection, joy at every table, and magic on every stage. We built it for you, and we can’t wait to welcome you in,” Tobey said.
