Acclaimed American steakhouse Prime + Proper will open at the Grand Hyatt Nashville at 1000 Broadway, Suite 1000, in Nashville Yards in late 2025, according to a release. This will be the second location for the fine-dining brand created by Heirloom Hospitality.
“Prime + Proper offers an unmatched culinary experience — excellent food, top-notch service and a great atmosphere,” Tim Horton, managing director and partner of hospitality investments at Southwest Value Partners, said in the release. “We are pleased to welcome them to Grand Hyatt Nashville.”
The spot will take over about 7,200 square feet and will seat about 185 in the main dining room. There will also be a private dining room and a 14-seat bar.
The first location for Prime + Proper opened in 2017 in Detroit, bringing USDA Prime cuts, Wagyu and rare global selections to customers. The steaks are grilled over locally-sourced wood and coal. Other menu items include a raw bar, caviar service, wood-fired seafood, cocktails and a wine program.
Prime + Proper is ranked No. 69 in the world and No. 12 in the U.S., according to the World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurant List.
“We believe both the Motor City and Music City have such great histories and communities with a love for delicious food and soulful hospitality. We are so honored to have the opportunity to become part of the fabric of the greater Nashville community. This location at Nashville Yards is the ideal setting for our new restaurant,” Jeremy Sasson, founder of Heirloom Hospitality, said in the release.
Tury Designs is spearheading the design for the Nashville Yards location. The Nashville spot will include the city’s largest restaurant dry aging facility and a 10,000-bottle wine cellar.
Prime + Proper will be open daily for dinner and there will be a brunch service added after opening. Heirloom Hospitality expects to employ 65 people at the new restaurant.
Heirloom Hospitality, founded in 2010 by Sasson, is also behind modern American spot Townhouse in Detroit and Mad Nice, a modern Italian restaurant also located in Detroit.
