The long-awaited Miramar Food Hall and Event Center in San Clemente is finally pushing forward after a change of ownership. New developers have taken over the project, which is planned for 1720 N El Camino Real, state records show.
A liquor licensing application for the address was submitted last month by a company called Tiger Hospitality FH Holdings, LLC, and is listed as pending. That business is the same group of restaurateurs that run the revived San Diego’s Little Italy Food Hall, What Now reported earlier this year.
Previously, the Miramar project was under the management of Landmark Food Halls, which has connections to Windmill Food Hall in Carlsbad. The deal was reportedly valued at more than $13 million. It’s unclear why the project changed hands, and neither group responded to requests for details.
However, the new owners do seem to be moving forward. The food hall’s Instagram account became active again this week, posting that it is under construction. The page teases “15 food vendors, two vibrant bars, and endless ocean views”.
The Miramar development dates back over a decade and includes adaptive reuse of the iconic Miramar Theatre and San Clemente Bowling Center. The theater will host events, operated by Wedgewood Weddings, while the food hall is poised to become a major dining destination.
