A new sports bar called The Brew Inn is preparing to open its doors this summer at 1910 Oceanside Blvd., Suite F in Oceanside.

The upcoming concept is set to move into the former home of 1910 Tap House, according to a recent liquor license filing. The Brew Inn is slated to open by the end of July 2025, becoming the latest project from seasoned local food entrepreneur Russell Bruhn, who is developing the space alongside his son, Tyler Bruhn.

Bruhn tells What Now San Diego that The Brew Inn will remain true to its sports bar roots while getting a full refresh. The space is undergoing a top-to-bottom cleanup and interior update, along with a revamped food menu that puts a fresh spin on comfort bar eats. While the menu is still in the works, Bruhn says one item he’s especially excited about is the sloppy joe—a nostalgic classic he believes is underrepresented in San Diego’s dining scene.

Bruhn is also the founder of Carlsbad Gourmet, a specialty food company known for its locally made sauces, seasonings, and jams, and Strawberry Shack, a beloved dessert stand offering strawberry-themed treats, including shortcakes, sundaes, and lemonades. He’s well-known in the local craft food scene for producing sauces for Stone Brewing and has previously worked with Pizza Port, AleSmith, and Green Flash Brewing. After working within San Diego’s culinary scene for so long through his different ventures, he and his son are now ready to embark on this new restaurant concept.
