A new high-end steakhouse called La Rocca Rossa is poised to open sometime this summer in the heart of Morrison, according to Colorado Community Media. Longtime restaurateurs Tiffani and Rand Packer are working hard to get the property at 209 Bear Creek Ave. ready for business.
The eatery is taking over the former Café Prague space. It will have an elevated dining menu, serving wood-fired meats and seasonal housemade pastas. Its approach echoes Evoke 1923, another steakhouse concept they own in Evergreen that opened at the beginning of this year, Colorado Expression reported.
In addition to Evoke 1923, the Packers have their hand in a number of other culinary ventures. In Evergreen, they also operate Murphy’s Mountain Grill, Muddy Buck Cafe, Espresso Evergreen, and Kiki’s Fresh Bowls. They also run Mekenita Cantina, a Mexican fusion spot in Tampa, Florida.
The Morrison Town Board voted unanimously to approve the restaurant’s liquor license at its June 3 hearing. Public notice records show the official application was submitted May 1. La Rocca Rosa — which translates to “the red rock” — will reportedly have a robust wine list.
