A new restaurant is expanding into Marina Square Suites in Seattle.
Char Kitchen, owned by Chuck Huck, will offer a full-service restaurant and bar featuring Northwest-inspired cuisine and seasonal local favorites.
“It’s going to be a fun restaurant,” Huck told What Now Seattle. “It’s kind of a combination of both rustic and modern. It’s going to be something that pretty much everyone can come in and enjoy.”
Huck said one of their main priorities is focusing on healthy, high-quality ingredients. They’ll be grinding their own patties for burgers and offering vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.
“I’m really excited about all the different burgers. We’re also going to have tomahawk steak–a two and a half pound steak, so some ridiculous items like that. We’ll also have smoked seafood and stuffed mushrooms,” Huck said. “The whole goal is to make sure that everything on the menu isn’t something you can make in 15 minutes at home.”
The element of fire will extend beyond the food and into the drink menu.
Huck said they’ll serve a variety of cocktails, including a smoky old fashioned where the bartender smokes the glass to infuse the drink with flavor.
The bar will also feature a rotating whiskey shelf—bartenders will press a button behind the bar to rotate the selection until the desired bottle is presented. A glass wine cellar will house wines curated to pair with the menu.
“I think it’s going to be a great space, the way it’s designed for people to gather,” Huck said. “There’s a party area and there’s a really beautiful patio that’s overlooking the water so people can come in and really enjoy each other’s company.”
The restaurant plans to offer full-service catering, a private dining and meeting space for up to 35 guests and an exclusive rooftop area for larger events like weddings and reunions.
While Char Kitchen doesn’t have an exact grand opening date yet, Huck aims to open in either September or October.
