Molly Moon’s Scoops Up Two New Shops, Expands Seattle-Area Footprint

A popular ice cream chain is opening a new shop in West Seattle on June 21, with another planned for Kirkland in 2026.

Seventeen years strong, a beloved ice cream chain is scooping up two new Seattle-area locations.

Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream will open a West Seattle shop on June 21 in the former Cupcake Royale space. Another location is planned for Kirkland in 2026, though the exact address has yet to be announced, according to the Puget Sound Business Journal.

“We couldn’t be more excited to finally serve all of our ice cream, toppings, sundaes, and milkshakes at our soon-to-open spot in the Junction,” the parlor posted via social media.

The grand opening is set for 3 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by doors opening to the public. From 3 to 5 p.m., kids 12 and under will receive a free kids’ scoop.

The shop will be open daily from noon to 11 p.m.

This marks the company’s 11th location. Another shop recently opened at the Washington Street Boat Pergola on Alaskan Way.

Molly Moon’s menu features staple “always” flavors such as cookie dough, cookies and cream, honey lavender and iced latte. Seasonal offerings include blueberry pie, matcha strawberry and orange creamsicle. Guests can customize their scoops with a wide variety of toppings, or opt for sundaes and ice cream cakes.

Ninety percent of the shop’s ingredients are sourced from the Pacific Northwest, with a focus on buying locally from farmers. The primary ingredient, hormone-free milk and cream, comes from a farm in Ferndale.

Each Molly Moon’s location partners with a neighborhood food bank. The new West Seattle shop will support the West Seattle Food Bank.

The company donates 1% of annual sales to local nonprofits, primarily supporting hunger relief through food bank partnerships. It also operates its own nonprofit, the Anna Banana Milk Fund.

What Now Seattle reached out to Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream regarding its expansion and future plans; however, the company has not yet responded.
