new French Mediterranean restaurant concept, Azur, is preparing to open at 453-455 N. Canon Drive in Beverly Hills.

While few details have been officially released, the restaurant’s website references a laid-back yet refined experience. Azul restaurant will move into the former home of Tatel, first reported by ToddRickAllen. It’s unclear when this new concept is expected to open, but recent license filings suggest Azul could open as soon as Summer 2025. Customers can expect a taste of the restaurant’s vibe through a curated Spotify playlist available on the site.

Located in Beverly Hills’ Golden Triangle, the site is surrounded by a variety of established dining destinations and retail, such as Wally’s Beverly Hills, All’antico Vinaio, Funke, and more. The space includes 4,731 square feet of interior dining area and a fully improved 1,409-square-foot back patio, along with an enclosed patio facing Canon Drive. The location offers full liquor and live entertainment entitlements and is positioned to attract both residents and tourists.

Azur is the latest project from Eric Chol, according to a recent liquor license application. The business owner relocated to Los Angeles in 2012 and oversaw a three-year renovation of the 102-year-old Globe Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. The restoration cost approximately $5 million and involved hands-on work from Chol and his team, who repainted the original decorative features, removed old flooring, and dismantled aging interior structures.
