A whiskey-forward cocktail lounge and tasting room is preparing to open in the heart of downtown Windsor, according to the Hope & Whiskey Podcast. One of the founders dropped the news during an episode that he and some partners are working on a concept called Twin Staves at 201 4th Street.
Twin Staves is a collaboration between two fast-growing Colorado whiskey brands—Larado Whiskey and Ridge River Whiskey. The bar will focus on craft cocktails, whiskey education, private tastings, and seasonal menus.
Larado Whiskey (which was rebranded from Lasso Whiskey, BizWest notes) is co-owned by Hunter Hoshiko, Dave Goldschmidt, Joe Berlin, Jordan Lockner, and Gabe Keyes. Ridge River was also founded by Keyes, Berlin, and Lockner; they began blending whiskey in 2020, creating a smooth, high-proof bourbon made with Rocky Mountain water.
Hoshiko confirmed to What Now Denver that the business is working through the different phases of development. A liquor license hearing was held earlier this month, public notices show. The venue will be located under The Hearth restaurant, but construction has not started yet. Job postings online show the company is hiring for bartender positions.
