After more than a decade as one of Costa Mesa’s go-to nightlife spots, La Vida Cantina has officially closed its doors. But in its place comes a bold new concept from the same operator: Casa de Onda. Greer’s OC announced recently that the change would be taking place at the 1870 Harbor Blvd. property.
“After 5 years of running La Vida Cantina – which has been at the Triangle since 2014 – I felt like the space needed a complete rebrand/makeover,” owner Alex Petrosian told What Now OC.
“Casa de Onda is the evolution of my passion to bring great food, hospitality, and a vibe-driven experience. The rebrand is a shift to an elevated Mexican American Fusion restaurant and cocktail concept that captures the feel of being somewhere warm, lush, and tranquil, without leaving Orange County,” he continued.
The restaurant and cocktail lounge, located on the upper level of Triangle Square, opened to the public last week; however, the business is still awaiting new signage and completion of some remodeling. The turnaround was quick, transitioning in just eight days, according to community posts.
Translating to “House of Vibes,” Casa de Onda was created with the help of Chef Ryan Perez. The brand recently offered updated hours: Monday from 11 AM to 10 PM, Tuesday from 11 AM to 12 AM, Wednesday from 11 AM to 10 PM, Thursday from 11 AM to 11 PM, Friday from 11 AM to 2 AM, Saturday from 10 AM to 2 AM, and Sunday from 10 AM to 10 PM.
