Main Chick Hot Chicken, a Nashville-style hot chicken concept that began as a ghost kitchen and pop-up, is preparing to open a new location in Oceanside at 1006 Mission Ave.

The company’s fourth area location is possibly coming to the Mission Square Shopping Center, according to documents filed with the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality. Main Chick Hot Chicken currently has locations in Clairemont, Carlsbad, and San Diego’s Morena neighborhood, as well as a handful in Los Angeles. It’s unclear when this new location will open, considering the application is pending a consultation, and the eatery has yet to be identified in any lease brochures for the shopping center. Regardless, the filing demonstrates the company’s interest in expanding its presence in San Diego.

Main Chick Hot Chicken specializes in Nashville-style hot chicken with customizable spice levels ranging from no heat to extremely hot. The menu features chicken sandwiches, tenders, and bone-in pieces, all served with classic sides such as crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw, and macaroni and cheese. Each order comes with signature sauce and optional pickles on a toasted bun. Combo meals are available and are priced competitively for the quality and portion size.

The Mission Square Shopping Center in Oceanside offers a perfect spot for Main Chick Hot Chicken’s newest location. With direct access to Interstate 5 and Highway 76, the site is visible to hundreds of thousands of daily drivers and is just blocks from the beach and Oceanside Pier. The area has a steady flow of foot traffic from nearby schools, residential neighborhoods, and public transit. The shopping center’s recent upgrades, high visibility, and strong local presence make it an ideal choice for the brand’s continued growth.
