I Scream Gelato, a boutique fast-casual dessert concept offering traditional gelato and an expanded menu, is expanding into Arizona with five locations across the state.

The new multi-unit franchise agreement was signed this month by franchise partners Satish Kosuri and Apurva Patel, according to Restaurant News. It’s unclear when the two franchisees expect to open their first location or where it will land. Regardless, this proves the Valley is about to get a new sweet shop. This will be the first time I Scream Gelato lands in Arizona.

“We’re excited to see the continued growth of our brand with Satish and Apurva,” Amit Glass, COO of I Scream Gelato, said in a news release. “They’re strong operators who will bring I Scream Gelato to new communities.”

This expansion brings the total number of I Scream Gelato locations to 22, with 10 currently open and 12 in development. The company is also targeting new markets, including Houston and Georgia, where it aims to open three locations in each area. The brand plans to add 20 new stores by the end of 2025.

“We’re not here to grow regionally. We’re here to grow everywhere,” said Glass. “We’re partnering with franchisees who care about product quality and customer experience. That’s how we become a household name in gelato.”

I Scream Gelato stores feature bright, modern interiors designed to reflect the brand’s playful spirit.

“The store design contributes to the overall customer experience and helps set us apart from typical ice cream shops,” Glass said.

I Scream Gelato continues to attract interest nationwide with its franchise model, which includes hands-on training, launch support, and ongoing marketing guidance. Each store offers a menu of made-in-house desserts, vegan options, and alcohol-infused treats.
