It is generally agreed upon wisdom that good things come to those who wait. Exciting news, then, for the gamers of Alexandria; after over a year of development, Continues Arcade is rounding third for its area opening, reports local media outlet ALXNow.

The retro gaming center hopes to bring nostalgic vibes to its 1050 North Fayette Street home. Future Continues regulars can look forward to good food and a unique and authentic arcade experience, certain to transport enthusiasts both experienced and new back to the golden era of cabinet video games.

Construction is still underway but nearly complete, with the concept awaiting final permits. The venue will be opening in phases; owner Allen Brooks anticipates holding a soft opening in the next few weeks, where guests will be able to enjoy dinner-only service. Once Continues is functioning at full capacity, it will offer breakfast and lunch as well, though a timeline is not presently available for when visitors can anticipate enjoying those services.

The Continues website states that the establishment’s menu is still being developed.

While the fare will no doubt be delicious, the star attraction of Continues is its impressive selection of games. The website explains: “With over 50 original arcade cabinets, Skee Ball, claw machines, and pinball machines, you’ll find yourself immersed in gaming goodness from the 1970’s to today!” To add to the sense of fun and nostalgia, the games will only function through the use of tokens; guests will be able to attain these via ATMs, change machines, and Venmo or credit cards.
