It’s been a rapid rise for the Jamaican Jerk House on Saint Claude Avenue in the Ninth Ward, and the popular Caribbean restaurant is parlaying its red-hot success into a second location in Metairie directly across from the Clearview Mall. According to posts on social media, the new location will have an elevated look compared to the original, with decor specifically inspired by the Jamaican capital of Kingston. Renovations to the restaurant space include all new kitchen equipment, large communal tables, and private booths. Posts indicate that the new location will be opening soon. What Now New Orleans has reached out for more information.

The Jamaican Jerk House started with partners Jackie Diaz and Richard Rose selling plates out of their home in Kenner during the pandemic. That effort was so successful that the couple opened their brick-and-mortar location in the former Sneaky Pickle near the end of 2021. The Jamaican Jerk House got a major shot in the arm last year when it got a rave review from viral food critic Keith Lee.
