Wanderlust Creamery, a Southern California–based ice cream chain founded in 2015, is getting ready to make its San Diego debut with a new location coming to Del Mar at 12925 El Camino Real.

The company’s tenth location is set to open in the Del Mar Highlands Town Center, according to the shopping center’s website. It’s unclear when this location of Wanderlust Creamery is expected to open, but the website mentions it will be sometime in Summer 2025. Owners Adrienne Borlongan and Jon-Patrick Lopez have already expanded this brand throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties, with a new location set to open soon in Torrance.

When these new locations open, customers can expect globally inspired ice cream flavors that draw inspiration from travel and cultural traditions. Popular menu items include Ube Malted Crunch, Sticky Rice + Mango (vegan), and Japanese Neapolitan. Flavors rotate monthly and often feature ingredients tied to specific regions or cuisines. All ice cream is made in small batches with natural dairy and minimal overrun. House-made waffle cones, including a purple yam variety, are also available.

“Inspired by our own feelings of wanderlust, every flavor is made from memories, the flavors that remind us of our childhoods, the places we’ve been, and the places we want to go,” according to the company’s website. “Our unexpected flavor combinations are precisely formulated to ensure a creamy texture that’s light on the palate, regardless of whether it’s made with 100% organic milk from Strauss Family Creamery or dairy-free.”

This is just the beginning for Del Mar Highlands Town Center, which already boasts an impressive lineup of national brands, such as Panda Express, Philz Coffee, Panini Kabob Grill, and many more. The shopping center is also getting ready to welcome HeyTea, MeloMelo, and ZEN. Other recently opened concepts include Latitude 33, Culinary Dropout, and Mission Brewing.
