bb.q Chicken, a globally expanding Korean fried chicken franchise whose name stands for “Best of the Best Quality,” is set to expand into Scottsdale at 15689 N Hayden Road, Suite 127.
The company’s second Arizona location will move into the former home of Hot Noodles, Cold Sake in the Sonora Village shopping center, according to a recent liquor license filing. Franchise owner Jae Lee tells What Now Los Angeles that he plans to open the new restaurant by mid-September. Unlike other locations, the Scottsdale branch will operate as bb.q Chicken & Pub and will serve various alcoholic beverages, including beer and soju.
The menu will feature bb.q Chicken’s signature Korean fried chicken, which is marinated, hand-battered, and double-fried for extra crispiness. Guests can choose from a wide range of sauces, including Soy Garlic, Spicy Galbi, Honey Garlic, and Gangnam Style. The restaurant will also offer Korean comfort food staples such as ddeok-bokki (spicy rice cakes), kimchi fried rice, and fried dumplings. Boneless, bone-in, and whole chicken options will be available, along with combo meals and a variety of sides.
Founded in South Korea in 1995, BB.Q Chicken has grown steadily into a global brand, now operating over 3,500 locations across 57 countries. The franchise entered the U.S. market in 2007 and has experienced rapid expansion, with more than 200 locations nationwide as of 2024. In Arizona, the brand opened its first store in Chandler in 2023, establishing a foothold in the region. The upcoming Scottsdale location represents the company’s continued commitment to expanding its presence in Arizona and providing local customers with authentic Korean fried chicken and a casual dining experience.
