A group of restaurant operators with ties to numerous restaurants — from Frankie & Johnny’s to Byblos Mediterranean Grill — is teaming up to open a seafood boil spot in Lakeview at 900 Harrison Ave. According to a permit filing with the City of New Orleans, partners David McCelvey, Hicham Khodr, and Tarek Tay registered a business called F&J on Harrison for the Lakeview address, suggesting a second location of Frankie & Johnny’s. However, a restaurant called Boil and Barrel will open at the location in August, according to NOLA.com. In addition to serving seafood boils, the restaurant will also serve contemporary takes on classic New Orleans dishes. The bar program will focus on craft beer and bourbon. The restaurant space at 900 Harrison Ave. has hosted several different concepts in recent years. Most recently, it was Outpost 45, a casual restaurant developed by the owners of the Velvet Cactus, which is located nearby. For a decade, it was a casual concept from Susan Spicer called Mondo.
