Salty Horse, a new café and brunch spot, is coming soon to Costa Mesa, according to liquor licensing records. The eatery is expected to open at 2246 Newport Blvd, Unit C, though an exact date is unknown.

The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control lists Salty Horse’s beer and wine license status as pending. The business is under the Blues Restaurant Group portfolio, which includes a diverse lineup of concepts across Las Vegas, San Diego, and Newport Beach: Little Avalon, Hello Hibachi, Blue Whale, Better Days Caffe, Palmys, Buenos Dias Cafe, and Juice Served Here.

It’s being marketed as a “coastal café” with vibrant, tropical-inspired dishes. The eatery teased on Instagram that it will have a promising all-day menu packed with bold flavors like ube chicken and waffles, pitaya pancakes, and french toast.

Construction is being handled by NeWave Construction, according to posts. The restaurant is actively hiring, with a recent job listing on Indeed for a barista position showing pay ranges from $18–$22 per hour. Operating hours are expected to be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
