Two brothers are introducing a new pizza restaurant to Dearborn this year.
The business Emo’s Brick Oven Pizza recently posted on social media that the ovens for the space at 22749 Michigan Avenue have arrived. On the menu at Emo’s there will be New York-style pizza, as well as boneless chicken tenders, pastas and salads. According to co-owner Amad Elzayat, there is not yet an estimated date of opening.
“Classic and straightforward: Authentic New York-style pizza, made the old-school way–thin, crisp and full of flavor,” says the description on their Instagram page.
Amad and his brother Abbas have been wanting to open their own pizza joint for a while, and when they heard the owner of the previous business was moving, they had a chance to start their own business. Amad told What Now Detroit he and his brother want to give back to the community.
“It happened the opportunity of, I think, a lifetime for us,” Ahmad said.
The pizza restaurant will be going in the same plaza as House of Chimney Cakes Cafe and Bowl Appetit. Emo’s will be on the east side of the building. This is an area with many restaurants and shops along Michigan Avenue and Newman Street.
The announcement for the restaurant first came in June. The estimated date of opening hasn’t been released as health inspections are still ongoing.
