LEGOLAND California Resort will introduce a new space-themed dining experience as part of its major park expansion, set to open in early 2026.
The new restaurant will be located within a forthcoming space-themed land that also includes multiple rides and attractions designed for families with young children, according to a press release. The expansion is part of a broader $90 million investment by Merlin Entertainments across LEGOLAND California and LEGOLAND Florida Resorts. It marks the most significant in-park investment in the history of both destinations. LEGOLAND California is located in Carlsbad at One Legoland Drive.
In addition to a new indoor roller coaster, the California resort will feature two additional space-themed rides, a toddler-focused play zone, a themed retail area, and a new food and beverage location offering “galactic grub.” Specific menu details have not yet been announced. The expansion is being developed by Merlin Magic Making, the company’s in-house creative team, in close collaboration with the LEGO Group. The space-themed area is currently under construction across from the Driving School in Fun Town. Entry will be included with general admission and all annual passes.
“After months of anticipation, we’re delighted to confirm details of these immersive, space-themed experiences at two of Merlin’s premier resorts globally,” Fiona Eastwood, CEO of Merlin Entertainments, said in a press release. Our Merlin Magic Making creative team is constantly working on new, compelling, and interactive experiences across our LEGOLAND Resorts as we further strengthen our partnership with the LEGO Group and broaden our appeal to LEGO’s global fan base. In both locations, the boundless creativity of LEGO will meet the wonders of space, setting a new standard for fun and imagination, and once again providing guests with a new reason to visit these destination resorts.”
Additional details, including the restaurant’s name and offerings, will be released closer to the 2026 opening.
