According to The Coloradoan, CooperSmith’s Pub & Brewing is bringing back its beloved “Poolside” pool hall concept. The company, located at 5 Old Town Square in Fort Collins, had shuttered that portion of the business three years ago, but has decided to revive it.

CooperSmith’s re-signed a lease for its old digs in early July and hopes to have the space open in mid-October or November. It will undergo minor renovations and have entertainment like pool tables and shuffleboard, along with a simplified menu of pizza and beer.

The Poolside part was closed in 2022 by then-owner Dwight Hall, who wanted to focus on the main pub operation next door. What Now Denver covered when dual-concepts Bonchon and Brown Donkatsu signed a lease for the space last year, but that deal fell through. It went back on the market, and Coopersmith’s new owner, Brandon Shaw, decided it was time for Poolside’s revival.

Shaw took over ownership in August of last year. He is a Fort Collins resident and longtime homebrewing enthusiast, though his background is in the tech industry. Since buying the brewery, he has redesigned the pub space and added a new bar.
