A new spot for Nashville hot chicken is coming to Granite Bay.
Yummy Hot Chicken is taking over the former Green Grill space at 6867 Douglas Blvd in the Marketplace at Granite Bay.
Behind the new venture are husband-and-wife duo Hrachik (Robert) Arustamyan and Asya Bakhtiyaryan, who fell in love with Nashville hot chicken after tasting it for the first time while dining out. They began experimenting at home, adjusting the spice levels and recipe until it passed the most important test: their kids’ approval.
The couple’s version of the Southern staple features a 24-hour buttermilk brine for maximum tenderness, followed by a generous coating of house-blended chili oil that gives the chicken its signature fiery kick. Like most modern hot chicken joints, guests will be able to customize the heat level to suit their spice tolerance.
“A fiery flavor revolution is coming to Granite Bay,” wrote the couple in an email to What Now Sacramento. “Inspired by the bold, spicy tradition of Nashville hot chicken, Yummy Hot Chicken is opening its doors with a mission to serve heat-seekers and comfort food lovers alike.”
Yummy Hot Chicken is scheduled to open on September 3, 2025. Green Grill, a vegan-friendly mini-chain, shuttered all three of its locations in Midtown Sacramento, Rancho Cordova, and Granite Bay last month.
