A fire at 3013 Beacon Ave. S. forced Homer to close temporarily, but the popular Beacon Hill eatery will reopen this August.

“After being closed for nearly two months, we can’t wait to re-light our ovens, launch our delicious late summer menu and take advantage of the rest of this short but sweet patio season!” the restaurant’s Instagram post reads.

Owners Sara Knowles and Logan Cox thanked customers on Instagram for their encouragement over the past few months, and celebrated being part of the Beacon Hill community.

They named the restaurant after their dog Homer, and it has been a beloved neighborhood staple since opening in 2018.

Homer serves a seasonal Mediterranean-inspired menu that highlights Pacific Northwest ingredients.

The wood-fired kitchen offers shareable plates such as hummus with chickpeas and cumin, labneh with dried tomatoes and mint, and nettle and pistachio spread with preserved lemon and green garlic, all served with fresh pita. Larger dishes include roasted chicken with chili-fruit paste, grilled pork with burnt cabbage and rhubarb jus, and whole petrale sole with shellfish butter and za’atar.

The restaurant is open Tuesday through Sunday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and is closed on Mondays.

What Now Seattle reached out to the owners regarding the relaunch, however they have not yet responded. This article may be updated.
