How the time flies. It’s already been about a year and a half since What Now reported on New York sushi bar chain Bondi Sushi’s plans to open in Oakland Park, at 333 N Federal Highway. It’s now preparing to launch in October, Aiden Carty, founder of Bondi Sushi together with David Hess and Justin Hauser, told What Now on Thursday.

“It’s got a whole new menu, and a new cocktail program,” Carty said.

In addition to new hot dishes, wagyus, and tomahawk steaks, the new Bondi Sushi will feature a cocktail menu inspired by New York City’s famous Shinji’s bar, also owned by Hess, Carty, and Hauser.

And then? What Now asked. What’s next in South Florida?

As it turns out, Bondi Sushi isn’t skipping a beat. Carty says construction is already underway on a new Bondi Sushi at Coral Gables’ Shops at Merrick Park shopping center.

We’re sure there will be more info on the Merrick Park location, but for now there’s plenty to be excited about. Meanwhile, get ready for Bondi Sushi’s big opening this October, Oakland Park!
