Chubby Group is set to unveil its newest culinary concept, Wagyu Factory, in Brea this winter, according to Brea Now. It will be located in the heart of downtown, at 120 S Brea Blvd #1, and will be one of the first locations for the emerging restaurant.
The eatery will take over the former Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ location, which closed in early 2025 and stated it was temporary, but it never reopened. A brand representative from Chubby Group told What Now OC they are aiming for a December debut.
This will follow the recent openings of the first two Wagyu Factory locations in Lake Forest and Tustin, OC Register writes. Its all-you-can-eat model blends Korean BBQ, Japanese hot pot, and international influences like a DIY taco bar. The restaurant’s “3-in-1 Cooking Experience” integrates a hot pot, grill pan, and conveyor-style grilling belt.
“Our vision for Wagyu Factory was to take the best beef in the world and create an experience that makes it approachable, fun, and endlessly satisfying. We wanted to give people more than just a meal. It’s about discovery, connection, and creating memories around the table. Whether you’re a foodie, a family, or just someone who loves a great value, Wagyu Factory has a seat for you,” Co-founder David Zhao told the publication.
