According to recent public records, a growing Mideastern-sourced coffee brand is soon coming to town.
Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co will soon be found at 3980 Southside Blvd in Jacksonville. It appears that this location will be run by local Saeed Sufyan.
“Two Yemeni entrepreneurs with a common upbringing and shared passion for Yemeni Coffee, Hatem and Munif set out to find a way to share it with the world,” the official website states.
“After eight years of tirelessly working through the near impossible mission of building a supply chain to source Yemeni coffee beans, the duo successfully achieved this dream. Reputable roasters and coffee shops across the United States receive their supply of this rare coffee from Qamaria Coffee Co. Today, those same beans are now available for coffee lovers everywhere to enjoy.”
Readers unfamiliar with the brand may…soon become familiar. The brand’s Facebook page lists an impressive run of recent or upcoming openings all over the country; the brand has grown in to new sites in Minnesota, Ohio, Illinois, California, and Florida in recent months.
In a recent exchange with owner Saeed Sufyan he tells What Now “I’m Yemeni but was born and raised in Dearborn, Michigan, a city known for its rich Middle Eastern culture and cuisine. I eventually moved to Lansing, MI, for school and graduated as a Physician Assistant.”
“While living in Lansing, I missed the rich flavors of Yemeni coffee and desserts so much that I would drive 1.5 hours weekly from Lansing back to Dearborn just to enjoy those familiar flavors.”
“After moving to Jacksonville, that 1.5-hour trip turned into a journey of over 1,000 miles. Working as a Physician Assistant at Avecina Medical Urgent Care in Jacksonville, that journey was no longer practical. That’s what inspired me to open this coffee shop, I wanted to bring those beloved flavors and traditions closer to home for myself and the community.”
So when will the location open?
“We plan on opening the door late Dec 2025 or early Jan 2026, hopefully sooner!” states owner Saeed Sufyan.
