Gueuleton, a French restaurant and wine bar brand known for celebrating “bons vivants” — lovers of good food and drink — is expanding to Canada with the opening of a new location in Montreal in 2025.
Founded in France, Gueuleton has established a strong presence with over 20 locations across the country, including Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, and Toulouse. Each restaurant, or “repaire de bons vivants,” offers a welcoming and convivial atmosphere, with menus focused on high-quality charcuterie, grilled meats, cheeses, and carefully selected French wines. The Montreal location will mark the group’s first North American outpost.
Gueuleton’s concept centers on pairing French gastronomy with a curated wine list that showcases regional wines from across France. Guests can expect bottles from Bordeaux, the Loire Valley, Languedoc, Jura, and even Corsica, along with select imports from Spain and Italy. The brand promotes sustainable winemaking, favoring wines that are natural, organic, or biodynamic.
The Montreal expansion aligns with Gueuleton’s mission to share its food and wine culture internationally. The brand also operates a catering service, publishes a food magazine, produces a web series, and sells its own gin, Sybaritas. More than just a restaurant, Gueuleton has cultivated a lifestyle brand that appeals to those who appreciate French culinary traditions.
An exact opening date and address for the Montreal location have not been announced yet, according to the company’s Instagram. However, the move reflects growing interest in French-style wine bars and communal dining experiences in major Canadian cities.
With its emphasis on quality, conviviality, and culinary heritage, Gueuleton seeks to establish a natural presence in Montreal’s vibrant food and wine scene. More details about the new location are expected to be released in the coming months.
