Baton Rouge ‘Chef to Watch’ Planning a Brick-and-Mortar Restaurant

Acclaimed chef Ciara Finley has filed a permit to open a restaurant in the capital city

Named a Chef to Watch by Louisiana Cookin’ Magazine in 2023, Ciara Finley is apparently planning to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant at 413 3rd St. in Baton Rouge. According to a permit filing with East Baton Rouge Parish, Finley is looking to establish a “restaurant, catering kitchen, and related food service operations” at the downtown address. According to her website, Finley is a classically trained chef who has been running her catering company, Desiderata Kitchen, since 2018. She also spent time working at Augusta National Golf Club, including for the 2019 Masters tournament. With Desiderata Kitchen, Finley regularly carters major events at LSU.
