A new venue is opening in Aurora, according to liquor licensing records. The eatery, called The Jackalope: A Twisted Tavern, will be located at 18581 E. Hampden Ave #134 and will have an accompanying distillery.

Originally, there were plans to open last month, but posts from the business state that its debut had to be pushed back due to the lengthy permitting process. City records show a conditional use permit that was filed with the planning commission is currently marked as “payment pending”.

The tavern is marketed as a “scratch kitchen with a twist” with a brunch menu, American classics, and cocktails infused with moonshine, whiskey, and tequila. It will host live music and weekly entertainment like trivia, bingo, and karaoke.

In addition to the tavern, ownership announced plans to lease a second space in the same Hampden & Tower plaza that will house a distillery, tasting room, and event space. The status of that project is unknown, as the company did not return requests for comment before publication.
